Contractors and Workers Insurance Agency, Inc. (CWI) was established in 1994 under the direction of PIPE with the stated purpose of offering competitive insurance products to Signatory Contractors and Union Members affiliated with District Council 16.

CWI is a California licensed general insurance agency offering all lines of personal and commercial coverages throughout Southern California. Since 1995 CWI has been operated by K-C Insurance Agency, Inc. and its President, Chris R. Reinhardt, CIC so that the combined resources and expertise of both firms can be utilized for the benefit of their clients.

In 1994 CWI, working with Contractors Collectively-Bargained Safety Association, Inc. developed one of the first Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Workers' Compensation Programs in the State of California. This program has helped many District Council 16 Signatory Contractors reduce their overall workers' compensation expense. In addition the program provides injured members a number of benefits not available under the normal claims process. In the past 10 years it is estimated that the PIPE ADR W/C program has saved its clients over $5,000,000.

Currently there are 4 approved insurance carriers in our program: State Compensation Insurance Fund, SeaBright Insurance Company, Majestic Insurance Company and ZURICH Insurance Company. Under this program we can assist large to small employers including new employers with their Workers' Compensation needs.

Our goal is to provide our clients with quality coverage's at an affordable premium with financially responsible insurance carriers.
